Inheritance
Tax Planning Support for the Professional Advisor
Our
aim is to provide Professional Advisors with a specialist Inheritance
Tax (IHT) support service to help them enhance their relationship with
their most valuable clients.
We provide a personalised service to an existing advisor’s high net
worth clients and operate as an extension of the Professional Advisor's
other wealth management advice.
Why
choose IHT
Planning Matters Limited?
Professional
Advisors want to deliver the best possible IHT advice to their valued
clients at an appropriate time in their client’s life.
It is important that each and every client is treated as an individual
with his or her unique circumstances and objectives taken into account.
Creating the best IHT plan for an individual client can be very time
consuming and require expertise in this complex area of tax.
Often Professional Advisors prefer to work with an independent
specialist in IHT, minimising the risk in an area where inappropriate
advice could damage a relationship. Working with specialists like us
can also help to reduce the risk of valuable clients transferring to
large national wealth management rivals that purport to offer a more
comprehensive service. IHT Planning Matters
advise and withdraw after
all the compliance issues are addressed and we have no ongoing
relationship with the clients of Professional Advisors.
IHT
Planning Matters provide expert planning, not expensive
insurance products.
IHT
Planning Matters offers Professional Advisors the opportunity to
maintain and develop a strong bond with their high net worth clients in
7 important areas;
- Of
paramount importance is the quality and validity of the IHT expertise
we offer to clients of Professional Advisors. Every client’s IHT plan
is personally created and supervised by the Head of IHT Planning
Matters, Peter Legg. Peter is a well respected and published
Fellow of
the Chartered Institute of Taxation and has over 25 years of
successfully tailoring IHT plans to meet the needs and objectives of
high net worth clients in the UK.
- IHT Planning Matters
understands the likely HMRC stance on artificial
structures and schemes. This allows us to successfully implement IHT
plans for clients in the knowledge that they will be approved by HMRC
and consequently protect the value of a client’s estate. IHT Planning
Matters do not create and implement artificial schemes that can
come
back to haunt Professional Advisors and clients at a later date.
- Our unique specialist nature means
that Professional Advisors, while
praising the creative and comprehensive nature of our IHT plans, also
acknowledge the value that our fees represent to their clients.
- The IHT Planning Matters Client
Relationship Team offer a complete client management service to keep
the Professional Advisor and their client in touch with all stages of
the implementation of the IHT tax saving plan. After Peter has met and
agreed a course of action with a client of the Professional Advisor
then the Client Relationship Team will, with Peter’s ongoing
management, progress the whole IHT planning process through to
completion. The Professional Advisor is able to stand back in the
knowledge that their client is getting the best advice, implemented by
an experienced and efficient team.
- All IHT plans created by IHT Planning Matters
are based on satisfying
the client’s wishes after a face-to-face meeting aimed at understanding
a client’s objectives. We believe in creating IHT plans that allow
clients to keep control yet retain flexibility, as opposed to some
organisations that may simply sell individuals a costly insurance
policy.
- The specialist nature of IHT Planning Matters
means that the
Professional Advisor can feel comfortable introducing the organisation
to their clients. We deal with complex IHT challenges on a daily basis
and have no interest in providing other accountancy or wealth
management services. Our aim is to enhance the Professional
Advisor’s relationship with their clients.
- We are happy to keep Professional
Advisors up to date with IHT changes
and how they could affect their valuable clients. Advisors can expect
us to pro-actively get in touch if we believe one of their clients
with whom we have met has an opportunity to improve their IHT planning
position. We offer all clients a 2 yearly review service.
